How to Make an Inkjet Direct PCB: Introduction

The purpose of this tutorial is help you print directly onto a copper clad board with a special ink which you can etch directly without time comsuming and error prone intermediate steps.  At the time of writing, this is the easiest and most comprehensive tutorial ever assembled.  We will show you how to do everything from preparing the board to configuring the print settings to etching.

Necessary Materials:

  1. Inkjet printer capable of printing on CDs like the Epson R280 or Epson Artisan 50
  2. Full Spectrum Engineering Stainless Steel PCB CD Stencil
  3. Full Spectrum Engineering Prefilled Ink Resist Ink
  4. Full Spectrum Engineering Blank 3.5"x2.5"x1/32" copper clad board
  5. Computer with PCB layout software running MS Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7
  6. Misc tools: hot plate, 150 grit sandpaper, flat head screwdriver, masking tape
