We offer RetinaEngrave USB with direct printing as a direct replacement for lasers controlled by NewlyDraw and Moshisoft. Our upgrades have identical cable connections and take 5 minutes to install/upgrade.

RetinaEngrave was originally designed as a plug and plug controller for the Full Spectrum Laser LLC lasers. RetinaEngrave comes preconfigured to work with our machines.

Due to large interest, we now offer RetinaEngrave as a general purpose laser controller for advanced DIY users.

• By purchasing RetinaEngrave USB you agree that you are not currently selling or developing or planning to develop any competiting laser control products without prior permission from Full Spectrum Laser LLC.
• We assume you are an advanced user and are capable of building and configuring your own machine.
• You need to design your machine to work with RetinaEngrave. We do not design RetinaEngrave to work with your machine.
• Your machine must be geared to 1000 steps/inch. No other configuration is supported.
• Your stepper motor drivers and laser power supply must be able to work from 3.3V CMOS signals at 2mA. Most standalone stepper motor drivers with opto-isolators require 5v at 25mA. In these cases, you will need a build or purchase a 3rd party breakout board with driver buffer chips. We provide no support on parts or interfacing to parts we don't sell, including 3rd party laser power supplies and stepper motor drivers.
• We strongly recommend you purchase the laser tube and power supply from us. Our prices are likely higher than sources like ebay but we have fully tested and qualified these tubes. Not all power supplies and laser tubes are created equal. The cheap ones cannot switch at the same frequency as ours. We use advanced high speed HgCdTe photodiodes to determine the switching speed. We supply full connection diagrams for the tube and power supplies we sell. Our high end 80w laser tubes (90w max) last in excess of 10,000 hours and are the same length as most 60w laser tubes (1200mm). Our power supplies are matched and tested with our tubes.
• You must be able to support yourself. All user configurations are done by editing the config.xml file. We will not edit the config.xml for you as this file changes with every release of RetinaEngrave and is designed for use with our own set of lasers. The fields are plain text and are self explanatory.
• The pinouts of the DB25 connector are here. No other documentation is available. These connections are Mach3 compatible so RetinaEngrave can be unplugged and run Mach3. We recommend you configure your system to work with Mach3 or EMC2 first before attempting to configuring RetinaEngrave.
• No support is given to configure your individual machine. We offer the 60 day money back guarantee specifically to allow users to figure it out themselves. The primary cost of our machines is the support package we provide.
• You may ask questions on our forums but we do not guarantee the same level support as our own machines.
